Baldwin, NY (PRWEB) September 8, 2008 -- Educational Activities, Inc., a leading publisher of early childhood materials, has added three new titles to the Why...? Series of read-along books. The new titles are:
- Why Do I Need to Eat Fruits & Veggies?
- Why Do I Need to Wash?
- Why Do I Need to Exercise?

Why Did My Bone Break?, one of the original three titles released, was honored with a Teachers' Choice Award.

These charming, beautifully illustrated 32-page books feature informational text regarding critical wellness issues for young children (prek- grade 3). Each soft-cover book is accompanied by a CD that includes a fully-produced narration with music, sound effects, page-turn signals, and a song by popular early childhood artists such as Hap Palmer, Rick Charette and others. In addition to this, the CD also furnishes a complete teacher's guide with classroom activities and parent/family activities (Guide and activities are Adobe Acrobat PDF files).

Standards Addressed:
Students will read, write, listen, and speak for:
- information and understanding.
- literary response and expression.
- critical analysis and evaluation.
- social interaction.

"These standards-based read-along books are easily integrated into early reading programs as well as health and science classes," noted Carol Stern, President. "Children are fascinated by and curious about health topics that pertain to them. The read-along narration allows children of many reading levels to participate and benefit."

The Free Teacher's Guide includes instructional suggestions, activities and games for:
Alphabet Recognition, Word Recognition, Fluency, Comprehension, and Vocabulary Development. Additional activities for families are also included.

The complete series now includes the following titles:
- Why Do I Need to Eat Fruits & Veggies?
- Why Do I Need to Wash?
- Why Do I Need to Exercise?
- Why Do I Need to Sleep?
- Why Do I Lose My Teeth?
- Why Did My Bone Break? (Winner - Teachers' Choice Award)
