We are deeply experienced in the fast-evolving new media space - especially in our extensive work creating and deploying funny new media campaigns to help our Fortune 500 clients market their products and services
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) September 7, 2008
Second City Communications - the marketing services and new media division of the famous comedy theatre, The Second City - is headlining the Chicago New Media Summit, a premiere forum focused on the intersection of innovation, new media, technology, advertising, and marketing.
The Chicago New Media Summit takes place on September 15 & 16, 2008 at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, with Second City presenting on September 15th at 8PM.
The Second City's presentation will explore on how important improv fundamentals are critical in the new media space - including the power of involving the audience in co-creating new products, services, and marketing messages. "In our world, audience suggestions drive the creation of funny material - that's what improv is all about," according to Tom Yorton, President & COO of The Second City. "Likewise, our marketing work for clients often involves harvesting customer insights that help in the creation of new marketing messages, products, and services," added Yorton.
The Second City is among the original interactive companies, predating new media and the digital interactive category. "We've been interactive for 50-years, in terms of the audience co-creation piece," said Bumper Carroll, Group Creative Director for Second City Communications. "And here's what's critical about creating hot, fresh material in today's interactive, new media space: If your stuff is funny, it goes viral and gets passed around in the blink of an eye. We know a lot about that," added Carroll.
Among more than 400 client engagements a year, The Second City provides dozens of Fortune 500 clients with marketing solutions targeted at new media - including campaigns for Procter & Gamble, McDonald's, The Economist, IBM, Motorola, and many others.
"We are deeply experienced in the fast-evolving new media space - especially in our extensive work creating and deploying funny new media campaigns to help our Fortune 500 clients market their products and services," said Tom Yorton. "Our 50-year legacy of cutting-edge humor, combined with our extensive stable of writers, actors, directors, producers, and new media specialists, appeals to clients looking for ideas and campaigns they won't get from traditional marketing agencies," added Yorton.
