Reading guide books, travel magazines and tourist pamphlets are helpful in planning and implementing a trip. However sharing the experiences of someone who has already done it is perfect. Over the next few months Nicole Anderson shares her experiences, the good and the bad, and the knowledge gained from her trip to Alaska and back on RVingandmore.com.

Starting this month, Nicole Andersen will begin writing about her family's adventures traveling in an RV from California to Alaska and back. Nicole, her three children and one yappy Chihuahua traveled in a 40' diesel, Class A motor home for four months. Nicole will share her Alaskan experiences in installments over the next few months about their journey of a lifetime. Anyone considering a trip to Alaska will benefit from their experiences and will thoroughly enjoy Nicole's humor, excitement and enthusiasm.

During September Nicole will explain how and why they traveled to Alaska. She will write about the initial preparations needed to begin planning this trip. The packing lists, route planning and the needed supplies will be discussed. She will share the checklists she used and point out the many resources that were invaluable to them on the trip. She will also explain why and what insurance is needed for a trip of this magnitude.

Traveling with children and pets, especially on such a long trip in a small space, adds some unique concerns. She will also cover some special considerations that must be taken when bringing a family pet along.

After the planning is done then what? Nicole will explain how she put her plans in action: from contacting campgrounds and locating dump stations to a myriad of things that might be overlooked.

All this and more Nicole will cover in September. Her first installment Introduction - Our Trip of a Lifetime - RV to Alaska and Back has already been published on RVingandMore.com.
