D'Angelo Grilled Sandwiches is unveiling four Hearty Bistro Sandwiches today at all D'Angelo locations. The new Hearty Bistro line features toasted ciabatta rolls and the same high-quality ingredients that have made D'Angelo a perennial New England favorite for more than 40 years.
The new sandwiches, which are served with a deli pickle and retail for $5.99 at participating locations, include:
- Bistro Italian, a blend of the best Italian meats and cheeses topped with tomato, lettuce, red
onion, banana peppers, and balsamic dressing on a toasted ciabatta roll;
- Bistro Turkey Club, 100% turkey breast topped with bacon, lettuce, tomato and a savory bistro
sauce on a toasted ciabatta roll;
- Bistro Roast Beef & Horseradish, lean beef topped with cheddar cheese, tomato, lettuce, red
onion and horseradish sauce on a toasted ciabatta roll; and
- Bistro Ham & Swiss, all natural ham topped with Swiss cheese, tomato, lettuce, red onion and
honey Dijon mustard on a toasted ciabatta roll.
Guests will have an opportunity to sample the sandwiches at an all-day Bistro sampling day on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at participating D'Angelo restaurants.

D'Angelo conducted extensive research and testing on the Hearty Bistro line. Through mall intercept research and focus groups, the Hearty Bistro line received excellent feedback from current D'Angelo guests and non-D'Angelo consumers. The new line's name was selected based on the feedback from these research guests, as guests continually described the Hearty Bistro line as fresh, flavorful, filling and satisfying.
The new Hearty Bistro sandwich line will be supported by a radio campaign in D'Angelo's major New England media markets, e-mail blast effort on September 16 and an aggressive coupon program.
