Poudre School District, based in Fort Collins, Colorado, and serving a student population of almost 25,000, has upgraded their volunteer management system to strengthen the efficiency of their 10,000-plus strong volunteer force working in and around their more than 50 schools. The district now runs their volunteer operations on the efficient and effective EZVolunteer™ system from Relatrix Corporation.
"High quality schools are one of many reasons Fort Collins has repeatedly been named one of the best places in the nation to live, and community support is vital," says Kris Cord, Volunteer and Partnerships Director at Poudre School District. "In today's society, it takes the strength, wisdom and resources of the entire community to inspire our children to succeed. EZVolunteer allows our volunteer management staff to generate reports of registered volunteers, different types of opportunities and even hours worked by volunteers over any period of time. This directly bolsters our mission and is a vital component to our success."
EZVolunteer is a web-based volunteer management system that strengthens community ties while building ongoing support by making it easier for busy parents and stakeholders to help out at school. Utilizing a district's website, the system enables school districts to register volunteers and streamline the process of tracking their activities and the hours they work.
"Getting parent and community involvement in the educational process has been shown conclusively to improve student outcomes," says Mark Franke, President of Relatrix. "The easier it is for parents and other community members to participate in the process, the more likely they are to do so. EZVolunteer helps facilitate a simple, online process to get volunteers engaged in the schools and opportunities where they are needed." he says.
More than 65 hardworking building volunteer coordinators handle recruitment, placement and recognition for over 10,000 volunteers under the direction of the Partnership and Volunteer Program. "It's all about creating and nurturing relationships so that every partnership is mutually beneficial," Cords says. "We want our community partners to feel recognized, and we want everyone to understand that they make a real difference in the lives of children and young adults.
EZVolunteer helps us do that much more effectively."
