ActiveXperts Software released version 5.0 of the SMS Messaging Server software suite. New are: Message Blocking, Message Routing, Billing, improved performance for SMPP and HTTP, improved support for GSM, improved performance for MS SQL databases.

SMS Messaging Server is an SMS messaging framework to enable customers to send, receive and process SMS- and e-mail messages. The framework is designed support virtually any scenario where low-and high volume SMS messaging is required. The product is database oriented (MS Access, MS SQL, MySQL), runs as a service on any Windows server platform, and provides an API to allow customers to create their own applications.

SMS Messaging Server now allows routing over different channels. If you have multiple channels, a channel is picked on a 'round-robin' base by default. Based on message recipient (prefix) or message content, a preferred channel can be selected.

SMS Messaging Server now supports Message Blocking. Messages can be blocked based on content, subject, recipient address, etc.

SMS Messaging Server now supports Billing. Users of the system have their own credits. When a users has run out of credits, SMS messages are blocked. Reports can be created.

The new engine of the product offers a higher throughput of outgoing SMS messages; especially SMPP channels benefit from this new engine, since SMPP is the fastest SMS protocol offered by SMS Messaging Server.

SMS Messaging Server is now capable of detecting the Message Storage of GSM/GPRS modems and GSM/GPRS phones. In previous versions of SMS Messaging Server, the Message Storage needed to be selected manually.
