Steven Damon leads the Business Development Team for Altea Therapeutics. Altea Therapeutics is an emerging specialty pharmaceutical company developing and commercializing products based on a new transdermal patch technology that can deliver therapeutic levels of water-soluble small drugs, therapeutic proteins, carbohydrates, and vaccines through the skin in a convenient, painless and cost-effective manner. Altea Therapeutics has demonstrated in several clinical studies that its patented PassPort™ Transdermal System achieves what existing transdermal patches are unable to do, namely the delivery through the skin of compounds that are typically administered by needle injections. The company's lead products in clinical trials include a Transdermal Basal Insulin Patch designed to provide continuous delivery of insulin for people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes and a Transdermal Fentanyl Citrate Patch that enables rapid and safe management of moderate to severe pain.

Steven Damon has over 20 years of experience with various business roles in the medical and pharmaceutical industries. Prior to joining Altea Therapeutics, Steven Damon was at Durect Corporation in Cupertino, Ca, where he completed several product partnership agreements with major pharmaceutical companies, was responsible for other commercial activities including the Alzet brand drug delivery pumps, and was President of a wholly owned subsidiary - Absorbable Polymers International. Damon will present the company's unique partnership opportunities at BioNetwork's Metabolic Diseases Partnering Primer, on October 7, 2008.

Highlights of the panel presentation will include:

•Exploring major partnering opportunities available to potential partners
•Understanding the unique drug delivery methods perfected at Altea Therapeutics
•Evaluating trends in the future of metabolic disease treatments
