I'm excited about this step forward.

Michael P. Fleming, founder of the successful law firm that carried his name for the past six years, announced this week that he and law partner Sam Palermo were forming a new and larger firm to better serve the needs of their growing base of clients.
"The formation of Fleming & Palermo will better allow us to expand our key and unique practice areas - business litigation, real estate law and injury litigation," said Fleming, former elected Harris County Attorney. "Sam has brought so much to the firm since joining me last year that the partnership is a natural step forward."
The firm has offices in Houston, The Woodlands and Dallas.
Fleming, who has practiced law in Texas for 20 years, has successfully practiced before the U.S. Supreme Court. He served as the Harris County Attorney from 1997 until March 2001 after twice winning election to the post. Even though he still serves the community in a variety of leadership roles, Fleming went into private practice after leaving public office. He is one of the only attorneys in Texas that is Board Certified as a specialist in both Personal Injury Trial Law and Residential Real Estate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
Palermo also has more than two decades of experience as a civil trial attorney who has practiced in state and federal courts in Texas and other states. Like Fleming, he is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell and Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law. Prior to joining Fleming in business, Palermo worked at two of the largest and oldest plaintiff's firms in Texas and is a former law clerk to the Honorable Ross N. Sterling, U.S. District Judge for the Southern Region of Texas. Palermo has successfully represented clients in a variety of cases -- maritime disasters, construction accidents, land and offshore rig accidents, offshore platform explosions, contract disputes, and fraud claims.
"The creation of this new firm makes us a stronger force for our clients in the boardroom and the courtroom," Palermo said. "I'm excited about this step forward."
