Schools and school-based organizations like the PTA have struggled for decades with organizing student, parent and teacher information in one clean database. Every parent whose ever set foot in a PTA meeting knows the difficulty (read: agony) of organizing and managing the vast amount of family information collected and distributed through family directories and PTA membership rosters. Oken drew inspiration from her over 20-year background in software development for large aerospace companies and the U.S. Navy, enlisting the help of her husband, Jay, who consults companies and non-profit organizations on how to use technology to streamline their businesses. •Contact Management: Allows for management of family and faculty contact information, including volunteer positions and membership designation. Entering the data is quick and simple with default values and list formats. Helps keep track of details for students with divorced families.
•Reports: By school, grade, class, class roster, staff/faculty members, change report, mailing labels, distribution lists and board members.
•Membership Management: Eliminates the need for multiple databases (and errors) by managing both family and membership information in one place. Keeps track of donations, board and committee positions. Also, if your association is a PTA, included is an export to the national PTA database (OMDR).
•The Importer: Provides the ability to import data from an existing spreadsheet file.
•Automatic Promotion and Graduation: Automatically promotes students to next grade level and graduates students leaving the school. No more manual updates of hundreds of kids each year.
•Export E-mail Addresses: Creates e-mail groups that can be imported into any standard e-mail program and distributed to the school, teachers and room parents.
•Automatic Data Confirmation Letter: Sends families current contact information at the beginning of the school year, with an option for them to modify the details or even opt out.
