M. D. Anderson Cancer Center has found that BioDiscovery's Nexus Copy Number software for analysis of chromosomal aberrations has exceeded their expectations and have therefore expanded their site license.

BioDiscovery Inc., the leading developer of integrated software solutions for microarray-based research, announced today that M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX has expanded its site-license for Nexus Copy Number, an intuitive tool designed specifically for scientists to efficiently analyze and visualize chromosomal aberrations from microarray data.

Dr. Latha Ramdas, Scientific Applications Specialist at M. D. Anderson, stated "Nexus Copy Number analysis tool is a very robust and user-friendly software for researchers at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center to process vast amounts of data from multiple array platforms in a short time frame. The use of the software exceeded our expectations, so we have now extended the licensing to enterprise level."

Dr. Soheil Shams, President of BioDiscovery, stated "We are very happy to see more scientists at M. D. Anderson having access to use and benefit from our Nexus Copy Number product. It became rather clear that the effectiveness of Nexus Copy Number software in handling the vast number and diverse platforms of array technologies used across this major cancer center made the software a valuable tool for many labs needing simultaneous access. With the expansion of the site license, we are looking forward to seeing many publications resulting from use of Nexus Copy Number at M. D. Anderson."

Nexus Copy Number can integrate data from thousands of arrays in a single project. It supports various array platforms and associated software including Agilent, Affymetrix, Illumina, GenePix, BlueFuse, ImaGene, Roche NimbleGen, Empire Genomics and custom data files. External data such as expression and miRNA can also be integrated furnishing researchers with a comprehensive tool that provides gain and loss frequency information, class comparison analysis, frequency-based clustering, and gene enrichment analysis. Not only does it provide results on a set of array data, but it also provides statistical data and reports on individual samples. With its flexibility, scalability, ease of use, and rich graphical and numerical outputs, Nexus Copy Number is an integral software solution to a researcher's copy number analysis projects.
