Software company Neutrinos, LLC announced the immediate availability of the first baby naming application for iPhone and iPod Touch. Baby Names allows you to quickly search and browse a library of names, make lists of names and share the lists with loved ones via email. Each record includes details on the gender, meaning and origin of a name.
Neutrinos co-founder Rob Banagale explains how the application idea came about:
"I was visiting friends in Portland, Oregon who recently became pregnant. One of the things they mentioned was how excited they were to start looking for the perfect baby name. They love the iPhone and had tried out applications before, so the idea to create a baby naming application was a perfect fit."
Neutrinos has already released three applications in iTunes since the launch of the iPhone 3G. "We've been growing in capability with each application release," Rob said, "so it was exciting to be able to address this need on the Touch platform."
"It is really enjoyable to be writing software for a technology that is so cutting edge, so popular," said David Peixotto, CTO of Neutrinos. "There are plenty of websites that help with baby naming, but an expectant parent may hear a name during their day and want to know the meaning and share it with loved ones right away. The iPhone offers the versatility to address these types of needs."
Baby Names makes use of the innovative iPhone and iPod Touch interface allowing parents to sort their name list and filter on boys names, girls names or both. The application has a database of over 15,000 unique names and is currently available for purchase in Apple's iTunes store for $4.99.
Founded in 2005, Neutrinos is a leading iPhone application software consultancy with offices in Boston, MA and Houston, TX. The company offers consulting services on applications for the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch.
