Danity Kane's #1 album Welcome to the Dollhouse served as the inspiration behind the collaboration. The line will have Danity Kane inspired hardware and overall design and is set to be carried in Macy's, Mandee, specialty stores, and on Dollhouse.com, with retail set at $58.
The group's input on personal style played a significant role in the development of the line. Design details include distressed denim, leather detail outlined pockets, coated denim with gel embroideries, and novelty patterned denim with intricate metal/zipper details. All Danity Kane for Dollhouse styles will have back pockets and trim details with the Danity Kane logo.
To support the launch of Danity Kane for Dollhouse jeans, an exclusive press preview was held on August 18, where MTV cameras filmed the action for an upcoming episode of Making the Band 5. During the event, in an interview with Extra!, Aubrey O'Day, a member of the group who recently starred in Hairspray, expressed the group's desire to create a jeans line that caters to a broader range of body types.
