The design team at Lomme could not be more excited, the first product from Cycle 13 a Liechtenstein based design company has won the most recognised award in the world for design.

It's not about the design or the functionality that we fully deserve this award it about the concept and the fact that it will soon be in production, its not good enough to create a prototype, if you can't produce the idea, then why bother?

The design team at Lomme could not be more excited, the first product from Cycle 13 a Liechtenstein based design company has won the most recognised award in the world for design. "And we haven't even started," says Agnieszka Bernacka, head designer and creator of The Lomme Bed. "We are busy getting Lomme into full scale production as well as creating new lines and products to compliment the range."

Lomme was conceived in Camberwell college by Agnieszka Bernacka when she dreamt up a concept for sleep. "A place to go and relax, a safe, protected place," she says, it is the result of a BA hons in design and a project idea that came to fruition when she set up her company together with Edward Fitzpatrick in Liechtenstein.

"We wanted a safe place to manifest this Idea and we found it in Liechtenstein," says Bernacka, the combination of art, design, functionality and Liechtenstein is unusual but also a stroke of luck or divine inspiration as they met the team needed to bring the Lomme to market.

Agnieszka added, "A lot of energy was given by Günter Thöny and he collected the award on all our behalf, Andreas Batliner and myself lead a team that created a product that not only looks great but functions as well and will be production ready in the coming weeks."

She continued, "It's not about the design or the functionality that we fully deserve this award it about the concept and the fact that it will soon be in production, its not good enough to create a prototype, if you can't produce the idea, then why bother?"

The Lomme team truly has got what it takes in attitude as well as good ideas, skill and determination. Edward Fitzpatrick said, "I want to thank all involved and you know who you are, we are proud to have a team that is forging ahead with new concepts, ideas, products that will enhance the lives of the people that have already ordered and those who have expressed serious interest, thank you."
