BoundaryMedical continues to attract prominent orthopaedic clinics around the country to their software as a service business model selling clinical outcome measurement solutions.

Once we're able to quantitatively measure the quality of our care using BoundaryMedical's Outcome Enterprise™ platform, we can turn our attention to refining our patient value even more. With the aging population, knee interventions are a perfect place to begin pioneering this transparency initiative

BoundaryMedical and Twin Cities Orthopedics (TCO) announced a partnership with BoundaryMedical to begin measuring the quality of care for TCO's Total Knee Replacement patients using BoundaryMedical's Outcome Enterprise™ Study Manager software. Troy Simonson, Administrator at TCO said, "BoundaryMedical offers TCO a software tool that enables us to quantitatively measure the quality of care related to knee replacements. The BoundaryMedical system is the only system that we've found that can effectively measure healthcare outcomes by making the data collection and analysis very simple and affordable".

Twin Cities Orthopedics' vision is to go beyond physician-rating systems and claims-based data, and take an early lead in sharing their quality of care information with patients and health plan providers. The initial project will begin with total knee replacement patients and will involve as many as nine hospitals and more than 40 physicians in the Twin Cities and surrounding areas. "Once we're able to quantitatively measure the quality of our care using BoundaryMedical's Outcome Enterprise™ platform, we can turn our attention to refining our patient value even more. With the aging population, knee interventions are a perfect place to begin pioneering this transparency initiative", states Troy Simonson.

Mark Walinske, BoundaryMedical's CEO, stated, "TCO joins a growing list of nationally prominent orthopaedic clinics adopting clinical outcome measurement tools that take them beyond business transaction systems like EMRs (electronic medical records). Having outcomes data allows the physician to deal proactively with health plans, device companies and their patients with data that's more relevant and granular enough to measure and make a difference in quality-of-care. Outcomes data helps reshape the consumer-health value discussion with more than just price transparency".

BoundaryMedical, Inc. recently introduced its new Outcome Enterprise Study Manager for measuring outcomes relating to orthopaedic treatments. As Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), Outcome Enterprise Study Manager allows users to collect and manage clinical data over the Internet easily, reliably, securely, efficiently and affordably. It is available for a single activation fee and monthly subscription fees. Using Outcome Enterprise Study Manager, a clinician can begin tracking outcomes or initiate a research study in less than an hour.
