Les Affaires publishes article about Rideau’s COO Stephen Hart’s environmental exploits

I couldn’t be more pleased to see the company take these concrete steps towards a more environmentally sound future. It’s good to see that more and more companies are taking decisions that are both environmentally and economically savvy.

Rideau, international web based rewards provider, is being recognized by Les Affaires. The French publication interviewed Rideau COO, Stephen Hart, about the environmental program he initiated at Rideau.

Rideau has invested in a thorough environmental program which will decrease its ecological footprint, while decreasing long-term expenditure.

Rideau now abides by sustainable development standards measured by the Global Reporting Initiative which produce the world’s standard in economic, environmental and social sustainability reporting guidelines.

To begin this endeavor, Rideau COO Stephen Hart hired Marion Dulude, environmental project coordinator, whose sole purpose is to make Rideau a green environment.

“We had tried to implement green initiatives ad hoc in the past, but to accomplish such an in depth endeavor, we really needed to focus our efforts. Now we are efficiently and effectively reducing our impact on the planet,” said Stephen.

Over the past few months, Marion Dulude has taught employees the art of reducing, reusing and recycling. Further, an internal monthly newsletter will soon keep employees apprised of the changes as well as encourage them to implement daily earth friendly habits.

Other steps Rideau has taken includes implementing a thorough recycling program, switching all cleaning products to biodegradable, all paper materials are in the process of being switched to 100% recycled and an energy saving plan is being devised. Also, Marion has helped green Rideau’s property with two apple trees. And finally, all coffee stir sticks have been switched to earth friendly organic fettuccini noodles which happen to make an equally good cup of coffee.
