Beechtree, by Ryko Development, recently cemented its status as the Washington region's premier lake and golf course community. On Thursday, September 4, Beechtree received a coveted Monument Award for Special Achievement by a Golf Course Community for Overall Amenities & Environment.

The Monument Awards is far and away the Washington region's most competitive and prestigious real estate design competition. It attracts entries from builders and developers throughout Maryland, Virginia and Delaware, and the winning homes and communities are honored for their design excellence.

With this most recent award, Ryko Development continues its impressive winning streak, both here in the Washington region, and in Houston, Texas, where it is headquartered. To date, Ryko Development has won two Monument Awards for Beechtree. Additionally, several of Beechtree's builders have received Monument Awards for their home designs within the community. Ryko Development has also received numerous awards in Houston, including "West Houston's Developer of The Year" in 2006.

"The first Monument Award we received for Beechtree recognized our original site plan design and vision for the community," said Aref Hinedi, Vice President of Marketing with Ryko Development. "To now win an award for bringing that vision to life, and for delivering on our promises, is incredibly gratifying."

Ryko Development, and the homeowners of Beechtree, have had much to celebrate in 2008. Beechtree is the home of Lake Presidential Championship Golf Course and Clubhouse, which officially opened on May 1, 2008 and have received widespread praise ever since.

Lake Presidential was developed by Landmark Land, a company renowned for creating world-class golf courses including Kiawah Island Ocean Course (host of the 1991 PGA Ryder Cup), Oak Tree Golf Club (host of the 1998 PGA Championship), and Doonbeg Golf Club in County Clare, Ireland.

The 11,000 square Golf Course Clubhouse boasts a restaurant with full bar, a conference room, a closed-door dining room, and stunning views of Beechtree's 30-acre lake. A full-time Event Coordinator is on site at the Golf Course Clubhouse to assist with any event, from a casual outing to a formal banquet or an extravagant wedding reception.

"When people come to Beechtree and play Lake Presidential or have lunch in the Clubhouse, they literally feel like they belong to a country club," said Nathan Presnal, Lake Presidential's Head Golf Professional. "The quality level is so high, we're constantly having to inform people that it's not a private facility and they don't have to pay annual dues to belong. They're definitely pleasantly surprised."

In addition to the golf course and clubhouse, Beechtree's award-winning array of amenities includes a 30-acre stream valley lake, the last of its kind in Prince George's County. Walking trails hug the lake and meander for miles throughout the Beechtree, which boasts hundreds of acres of mature woodlands and open space. Another signature amenity and central gathering place for homeowners is the planned Beechtree Swim & Racquet Club, featuring a clubhouse, tennis courts, pool and grand sun deck with views of the lake. Upon Beechtree's completion, homeowners will have access to over $30 million worth of amenities.

Beechtree's impressive portfolio of new homes for sale features Executive Single Family Homes, Classic Single Family Homes, Villa Homes and Grand Townhomes. Single Family Homes are selling from the upper $300's and Grand Townhomes are selling from the low $300's. Seven decorated models are now open, including brand new models in Northlake and Southlake.

Beechtree is located in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, just off Route 301, about 10 minutes from the Beltway and 30 minutes from the Nation's Capital. To learn more, and for directions to the community, please visit BeechtreeMD.com
