Nature Leads Laurie Enterprises to Launch Webstore

"Four or five years ago, a friend gave me a bird feeder for Christmas. Watching what happened through the winter and spring months, it was like there was a whole new world out there," began Kathy Laurie. "As spring came, I went looking for more bird feeders, I didn't find exactly what I was looking for. My husband and I decided it would be a really good idea to help others discover the fun we're having so we started a website."

They make beautiful enhancements for the yard.

That site is http://www.BirdFeederCabin.com, which is run by Laurie. Aimed at novice bird watchers and nature hobbyists, the Lauries' site has a myriad of bird feeders of all types -- ones specific towards certain types of birds and even squirrel-proof bird feeders.

"Our products go from relatively inexpensive starter feeders to feeders that are yard decorations that may be a bit more expensive," said Laurie. "They make beautiful enhancements for the yard."

Though the website has only been operational for a year and a half, Laurie is already considering expanding the selection on the site: "We're looking at expanding our lines of bird baths, adding birdhouses and including some products that use water to draw more birds into the backyard while making a much more serene environment."

Bird Feeder Cabin also has its own blog with http://www.BirdFeedersBlog.com. "It will be a forum for people to share their experiences and if they have questions, then someone can jump in and answer," said Laurie of the blog. "It's a way to get people together and talk about what they have seen and done in their own bird watching activities."

Ironically, something that began as a hobby for the Lauries has turned into something of a passion -- to the point where they're able to offer premium products for burgeoning nature lovers; and to think, all they really wanted to do was share their fun with others.
