I feel that gift baskets are unique
Kitchener, ON (PRWEB) September 18, 2008
As a serendipitous act, Yvonne Martens attended a "Women in Business" meeting and found her next project. "The meeting had to do with the internet," explained Martens. "I thought, 'If people could make money on eBay, why can't I?'"
Feeling the entrepreneurial bug, Martens took a class on running an internet business and went to work. The end result is http://www.GiftBasketsByYvonne.com, a website that specializes in gift baskets of all sorts.
"I wanted to have products that weren't seasonal and gift baskets can be useful all-year round," said Martens.
Though it's only been open since April 2008, Gift Baskets by Yvonne has a large catalog of products including baskets for specialized events such as anniversaries, weddings and for kids. The website also has a selection of candies, fudge, popcorn, cakes and fresh baked cookies. But Martens is not stopping there.
"We will have some new baskets - we'll have them for housewarmings, nurse appreciation, teacher appreciation and graduations," said Martens. "There will be something for everybody. You can also customize our gift baskets."
Martens also has another feature for her customers, her blog. "I have it set up to keep people updated with new products. I'll be writing some tidbits on gift baskets, too," said Martens of http://www.VarietyGiftBaskets.com.
In a way, fate brought Yvonne Martens a gift basket of its own - a basket that houses the spirit of an independent business woman whose goal is to make these special gifts available for people who will appreciate them.
"I feel that gift baskets are unique," said Martens, "it doesn't matter what kind of personality you have, there's a gift basket for anyone."
