The Oklahoma Center for Rural Development at Northeastern State University recently launched a new website, http://www.cityvue.us, to support the state's economic development. CityVue.us provides Oklahoma's communities a centralized location to create, store and exchange their community information. Each registered community is provided the capability to enter their information online in a standard format. Once a community has added their information, it can be updated at any time so that the information can stay current with changes that take place.
The site provides, through user input, various economic profiles, including city, education, transportation and utility services, as well as city attributes like lodging, attractions and events, major employers and restaurants. A section of the website is also dedicated to building and industrial site information with images of each area.
CityVue.us also offers a fully functional GIS website that can be directly linked to any agency's website. The site displays information that is collected from CityVue.us including various economic attributes. Maps can viewed via city, county or economic development coalition boundaries.
Visitors to the site are given access to comprehensive reports on individual communities that can be downloaded and/or printed. Visitors can also manipulate the community maps by applying several layers to display economic features and area demographics.
