Live Seminar in Sarasota on Sept 27th Provides Training to Small Businesses on How to Laser-Focus Marketing Efforts and Use 21st-Century Techniques to Maximize Budgets and Acquire New Prospects, Customers and Clients

With so many local businesses affected by the recession and the housing slump, consultant, trainer, and coach David G. Johnson decided to do something about it. His company, Epiphany Marketing, provides 'virtual' training to entrepreneurs and small businesses across the US, Canada and Europe on how to attract new prospects, customers and clients in today's changing world. But considering the local business environment, David decided to repackage his results-oriented training and bring it to the area in a half-day live event to make it more accessible to businesses with tight budgets.

"Even before the residential housing crash and the recession, many small businesses had already discovered that traditional methods of acquiring new customers had become less effective," said David. "Successful companies today have to be more strategic than ever with their marketing efforts, and must understand the role that the internet plays in their businesses."

In a 2007 study by comScore Networks, researchers found that 60% of people will search online when looking for local business information. In addition, research indicates that the vast majority consider the top results to be most relevant, and a substantial percentage will not scroll down.

"If you haven't learned how to show up at the top of the Google results, you're missing a major chunk of your potential customers," David says. "That single factor could be the difference between thriving and going under in a market like this one."

"When David told me that I could start using the internet as a primary method for marketing my Neurology practice and obtaining new patients, I didn't believe him," said Daniel Kassicieh, D.O., a Sarasota-based physician. "Within 6 months of implementation, I was ranked on the top four pages of Google. Almost 50% of my new patients were (and are) coming in after finding me on the web."

But the issues are much bigger than just how a company's website appears on the search engines. Many small businesses do not have the in-house marketing savvy to understand how technological and sociological shifts in the past 10 years have changed the rules, as it were. That's where Epiphany's "Results Now Marketing" Training Program comes in. Details on the training may be found at

Beginning at square one, the program shows entrepreneurs and small businesses the fundamentals of marketing by training them on how to focus on the right target market and get their message heard in a noisy marketplace.

"The number of marketing messages the average American is exposed to every single day grew from around 500 in the 1970s to over 3,000 in the 90s," says David. "Without a major branding budget, you aren't going to cut through the noise using traditional marketing and advertising techniques. And small businesses simply don't have big marketing budgets and the time to wait for results."

The training program developed by Epiphany Marketing teaches businesspeople how to use a mix of media -- including low-cost and even free internet tools -- to build relationships with today's savvy buyers.

"Whether you sell to consumers or to other businesses, you must hire or acquire the expertise to effectively reach out in the 21st Century," says David. "My goal with this training is to put the information and the tools directly into the hands of the business owners, so they can implement right away. And if they still prefer to hire someone to put the techniques to work, they'll at least know exactly what needs to be done."

Epiphany's small business trainees come from a wide variety of industries, from physicians to retailers, and from manufacturers to service companies. And they're getting results.

"We have had multiple websites for many years now," says Raj Doraisamy, CEO of Interview USA, Inc., a software company. "We've been quoted $5,000 or more per month for 3rd-party search engine optimization services. But using strategies we learned from Epiphany Marketing's training course, our products and our company have gotten to the front page of Google within just a few weeks. It is quite dramatic."

Results Now Marketing will be held on Saturday, September 27th from 8am-Noon at the Homewood Suites by Hilton on Fruitville Road in Sarasota. Space is limited. Online registration and additional information is available at
