Eve J. Alfille Gallery & Studio at the Cutting-Edge of Implementing a 100% Recycled, White Metal, Palladium

With sensitivity to the Earth's non-renewable resources, Eve J. Alfille applies recycled palladium metal in never used before fabrication techniques.

Evanston, IL (PRWEB) September 22, 2008 -- Eve J. Alfille, a French-born artist, archeologist and gem expert, and founder of the Eve J. Alfille Gallery & Studio announced today its expanded use of Palladium metal. Palladium (Pd), atomic number 46, one of the six Platinum Group Metals (PGMs), offers a naturally white-silvery appearance, almost half the weight of platinum and is 12% harder.

"Palladium has been used for mainsprings in watches, some surgical instruments and as electrical contacts," said John Weritz, metallurgy manager for a large alloy company in Alabama. "These applications require high strength, hardness and temperature resistance. Because of its ability to absorb hydrogen, it is also used to purify it." Mr. Weritz discusses how Palladium can absorb up to 500 times its volume in hydrogen at room temperature and releases it at high temperatures.

The Palladium metal is mined in only a few regions of the world, including Montana. However, Eve J. Alfille Gallery & Studio has made the strategic decision to utilize wherever possible, eco-friendly, 100% recycled Pallatium, branded TruPd, supplied and supported by the Hoover & Strong refinery of Richmond, Virginia. The company maintains a separate Mill and Jewelry Division preparing the metal for high quality industry uses.

Eve J. Alfille Gallery & Studio is at the forefront of working with and selling state-of-the-art jewelry using the Palladium metal in the Chicago area. The visionary designs encompass fabrication techniques that have never been used before with Palladium. "The combination of my past as an archeologist and gem expert gives me the confidence to deliberately extend into this noble and precious metal," said Eve J. Alfille of Eve J. Alfille Gallery and Studio. "It is reflected in my designs and confirmed by those who have invested in the hand-crafted pieces of art."
