Maplewood, NJ (PRWEB) September 25, 2008
Mark C. Alexander, Obama campaign policy director, is slated to speak at the Obama Rally at DeHart Park and Community Center, Maplewood, NJ, on Sunday, September 28, from 3-6 pm.
Alexander, a Montclair, NJ resident, is a law professor at Seton Hall University and is currently on leave to the Obama campaign. Previously, he was general counsel to Cory Booker and the Booker team in the 2006 Newark municipal elections. He then served in the same capacity for Newark in Transition, as Mayor Booker moved to assume the office.
Before that, Alexander served as Issues Director for the Bill Bradley for President Campaign in 1999-2000. He was also Issues Director for Senator Edward Kennedy's Re-election campaign in 1988, and before that, a legislative assistant to Senator Howard Metzenbaum.
The event is designed to bring Obama supporters together to learn more about the campaign and what they can do to help, including voter registration, canvassing, get out the vote and other volunteer activities. The program will feature other state and local speakers as well.
Rebecca Frezza & Big Truck will headline the entertainment. The Montclair-based Big Truck, featured on Noggin and PBS Kids, is known for its adult-friendly kids pop and derives its energy from a wide range of musical influences. The kids band Grounded will also appear at the rally.
Kids will have a chance to participate in a variety of activities, too. There will be an art table where kids and families will be able to make their own Obama posters and a kids voting booth. Games will include mini-golf, horseshoes, parachute and digging for treasure.
