Sidney, OH (PRWEB) September 25, 2008
Emerson Climate Technologies, a business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR), has begun offering a wide selection of training programs for Linc Service® Contractors. The training courses cover a broad range of refrigeration and air conditioning topics, and are delivered in a CD-based distance learning format.
The courses were developed by Emerson's Educational Services division, a leading provider of comprehensive technical training programs for the heating, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC/R) industries.
"We are delighted for the opportunity to partner with Linc Network, LLC, and provide contractors throughout the Linc Service Network with these valuable training resources," said Larry Banas, director of Emerson Climate Technologies' Educational Services. "Ongoing technical training is an essential part of today's HVAC/R industry, and we believe Linc Service Contractors will benefit greatly from these outstanding educational offerings."
Headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pa., and Atlanta, Ga., Linc Network, LLC - one of the Top 200 franchise systems in the U.S. as ranked by Franchise Times - is the franchisor of the Linc System®, a business format for operating a commercial heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) service business.
Founded in 1979, the Linc Service Network is a community of more than 140 locally and company-owned mechanical contractors who utilize the Linc System to provide energy solutions to commercial, industrial and institutional customers worldwide. By taking advantage of Emerson Educational Services' CD-based training courses, Linc Service Contractors will be able to learn at their own pace, whenever they want, without interrupting their work schedules.
The initial curriculum being offered to Linc Service Contractors includes five Emerson Educational Services courses: "Basics of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration," "Copeland Scroll Digital™ Basic Overview," a two-part "Emerson Electrical Series," a three-part "Fundamentals of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration" program, and a six-part program on "Compressor Operation and Mechanical Failures." New courses will be added on a regular basis as they are developed.
"The convenience and user-friendly nature of these training tools will be a great fit for our Network," said Linc Network Vice President of Operations Jim Wharton. "We believe they will help Linc Service Contractors remain best-in-class and at the forefront of the HVAC industry."
All Emerson Distance Learning courses are developed in modules that can be completed in about 45 minutes apiece. The courses offered to Linc Service Contractors range in length from one to six modules. Linc Service Contractors access and order the courses by logging on to http://www.lincservice.com and using their Linc Service username and password.
"Emerson courses are designed with interactive features that help make learning more enjoyable and beneficial," Banas added. "Our goal is to offer Linc Service Contractors valuable information that can help them become more productive and profitable in the field."
