Verona, NJ (PRWEB) September 25, 2008
LiveProcess, the leader in healthcare emergency preparedness and incident management, announced today that it will be among the exhibitors at "Disaster Planning for California Hospitals," a statewide conference for hospital executives, disaster planning teams and community partners. The conference is planned for October 1-3, 2008 at the Sacramento (CA) Convention Center.
The conference is sponsored by the California Hospital Association. Co-sponsors include the California Department of Public Health, Emergency Medical Services Authority, Governor's Office of Emergency Services and Governor's Office of Homeland Security.
Seminars will cover such topics as earthquake risk, lessons from the recent San Diego fires, disaster boot camp, fatality management, scalable events and disaster planning, trauma surge, caring and preparing for pediatric patients during a disaster, evacuating healthcare facilities and more.
Presenters will include representatives from a wide variety of organizations, including the Joint Commission, California Emergency Medical Services Authority, Harvard School of Public Health, Los Angeles County Emergency Medical Services Agency; California Department of Public Health Vital Records Unit, as well as prestigious medical centers such as University of California, San Diego Medical Center, Scripps Health and Children's Hospital of Los Angeles.
LiveProcess recently welcomed hospitals in California's fourth largest county on board when it signed an agreement with the Riverside County Department of Public Health and the county's 15 hospitals. The addition of these California facilities marks an important milestone for LiveProcess because it is the company's first countywide installation. These additions come as LiveProcess continues to build out its national presence and drive continued enhancements of its industry-leading platform.

LiveProcess was established in the wake of the September 11th attacks and the worldwide SARS outbreak in response to widespread recognition that healthcare needed a better way to plan and respond to disasters. In 2003, LiveProcess launched its centralized, Web-based disaster preparation and incident management platform - the first of its kind for healthcare - to help healthcare organizations prepare for and respond to both large- and small-scale emergencies and disasters. Today, it is the leader in emergency management for hospitals.
The LiveProcess platform is used by hundreds of hospitals across the country. In addition, the American Hospital Association (AHA) has exclusively endorsed LiveProcess as the choice for disaster readiness and incident command solutions for its more than 5,000 member hospitals.
The LiveProcess platform provides hospitals, other healthcare providers and public health agencies with the ability to evaluate and manage their own preparedness and state of readiness, as well as coordinate response with other entities, from small incidents through large-scale healthcare emergencies. Its broad and growing range of fully-integrated tools include Hazard Vulnerability Analyses (HVAs), an integrated Incident Command System (ICS), NIMS Compliance activities, Drills for Readiness and Compliance, a real-time Event Log, and Competency-Based Training capabilities.
