CRST International, one of the largest privately-held transportation companies in the country, today announced that it has been listed on the 2008 InformationWeek 500. This is the first time CRST has been chosen for the list, which focuses on innovation in technology.

This is the first time CRST has been chosen for the list, which focuses on innovation in technology. The 2008 InformationWeek 500 companies were revealed on September 15, 2008 at a gala awards ceremony held during the InformationWeek 500 Conference at the St. Regis Resort in Monarch Beach, California.
CRST was chosen for the list based on the technology used to create its new Data Warehouse, which provides managers the ability to track KPI's, obtain more detailed reporting, and spot trends as they start. In addition, CRST created a web-based On Target Tracking system which allows clients to track a load online the same way an individual may track a package. The company also implemented a Cisco Unified Communication System, which integrates all communications (blackberry, voice, data, etc.), allowing for more reliable and higher quality voice/data capabilities. A redesign of its Data Network has increased efficiency and created a more secure network, and by electronically tracking Truck Maintenance, the company is able to schedule routine maintenance, and address equipment issues better. CRST is one of only four Iowa companies to be listed.
