Northwest Author Royce Buckingham is riding high after making the best seller list* in Germany with his debut fantasy novel and is celebrating the U.S. release of his second novel, Goblins!

Random House-Germany released Buckingham's first book, Demonkeeper, last month as part of its new fantasy imprint, Penhaligon. The book's German title is Damliche Damonen. Buckingham has recently inked additional deals with Random House-Germany for a sequel to Demonkeeper and his book, Goblins!

Goblins! (G.P Putnam's Sons), has been dubbed "a riotously good adventure" by Kirkus Reviews. The story revolves around a rambunctious world full of Goblins living just under the surface of Sumas, a sleepy town near the Canadian border. Click here to view the official trailer. The book was just released in stores this month.

"As a prosecuting attorney, I know that police hide motion-activated alarms along the U.S.- Canadian border to catch smugglers," said Buckingham. "One day, I wondered…what if mischievous kids responded to one of those alarms, but instead of a smuggler, they caught a monster? The answer to that question grew into this thoughtful tale about making good choices, taking responsibility and saving the world from ferocious, man-eating goblins."

The release of Goblins! follows Buckingham's breakthrough first novel, Demonkeeper, which was named to the International Reading Association's 2008 Children's Choice Booklist and is already in development with 20th Century Fox as a major motion picture.

Buckingham is an author and screenwriter who creates funny, creepy, and cool stories for kids while working as a prosecuting attorney. He is currently revising his third middle grade novel for G.P Putnam's Sons under the working title Scary Monsters and writing the sequel to Demonkeeper. He lives in Bellingham, Washington with his wife, Cara, and their two boys. He is represented by the Atchity Entertainment International management and production company in Los Angeles.
