They have this new mixture of bats that don't fly off the hand as easily, so you don't have to tape up your bat or your gloves

Baseball is synonymous with America, tradition and the smells of summer. Mary Stickney, the proprietor and namesake behind http://www.BaseballAtStickneys.com, found inspiration to start her baseball website from her family. "My nephew plays baseball and his mom would buy him gloves and they only lasted a year," said Stickney. "I ran across Akadema gloves on the internet and decided to get him one and he really liked it.
"His playing seems to have gotten better and I contacted Akadema and got their permission to sell their gloves on my website," Stickney continued.
Stickney started Baseball At Stickneys in November 2007 and as it approaches its one year anniversary, she has considerably beefed up her catalog to include baseball bats, travel bats and batting gloves.
"I decided to go with their other equipment, too," said Stickney. "I basically have everything for the basics of a baseball team, with the exception of uniforms and helmets."
Stickney is aware how well made Akadema's equipment are, but she's also aware that they also share a bond in having familial relationships inspire their respective businesses: "The two people who run Akadema (Joe and Lawrence Gilligan) are brothers who were in a minor league team."
While Stickney's site continues to attract baseball fans looking for reliable equipment, she's also excited about some of the new items that Akadema has been releasing. "They have this new mixture of bats that don't fly off the hand as easily, so you don't have to tape up your bat or your gloves," said Stickney. "As they continue to come out with new products, I'll no doubt put them on my site."
Also another new feature that Stickney has on her site is her new blog, http://www.BaseballGearBlog.com. "I'm going to have tips on the blog - fielding tips and batting tips. I'll also put up baseball news and news about Akadema's new products."
Mary Stickney has already found some loyal patrons in some of her nephew teammates; ready to expand, she has faith that the high quality of Akadema's products will soon become tantamount with the term "baseball" itself.
