Bejeweled flip-flops are the specialty products that Cathy Mumford and Kelli Polvado sell at their webstore, Rockn Rhinestone. Though the website is still in its infancy, the duo are expanding their product line and have added a blog.
Henderson, NV (PRWEB) September 28, 2008 -- A simple inquiry led two friends into a business venture. When Cathy Mumford showed up to work with a sparkly new rhinestone bracelet, it immediately caught the attention of Kelli Polvado, who worked for Mumford at the time.
"I had my husband go with me to different jewelry stores to find this bracelet," begins Polvado, "but when we became friends, I asked Cathy where she got it and she laughed and said it wasn't real."
Ever the collective entrepreneurs, Mumford and Polvado went into business together selling rhinestone accessories like the bracelet that both women fancied ("We decided it would be cool to put these rhinestone letters on flip-flops and we went into business," recalls Polvado).
In May 2008, they launched www.RocknRhinestone.com, a website that has personalized rhinestone products such as flip-flops, bracelets, slide charms and the actual rhinestone letters themselves. Still, the duo has plans to expand their product line, including other items that will pique the interest who love the sparkles of rhinestones.
"We're looking to add other items to the website," explains Polvado. "Ballcaps, wedged flip-flops and briefcases are some of the ideas that we hope to add in the future to expand our product line."
Equally appealing is the blog that the two launched recently to coincide with their webstore. "We're going to have topics such as the origin of rhinestones and tips on incorporating flip-flops into your personal fashion," says Polvado of www.AboutFlipFlops.com.
Wherever their business might take them, be it monopolizing the world of bright flip-flops or attractive bracelets, Kelli Polvado and Cathy Mumford are certain that their store is indicative of the unique style that each person has within themselves.
"Our products allow people to be themselves," Polvado says. "You can personalize them and you can show your attitude. You can put anything you dream of into flip-flops or bracelets." Surely that mentality allowed Polvado and Mumford to have their own business.
