Enabling global financial players is a further strategic step in strengthening our position as the leader in mobile payment enterprise solutions.
Frankfurt, Germany (PRWEB) September 29, 2008
paybox solutions AG, the trendsetting company for mobile payment enterprise solutions headquartered in Germany, is introducing its mobile payment technology to the Canadian marketplace. The technology, which allows end customers to safely and conveniently send and receive money on their mobile phone, is being tested in Canada by RBC Royal Bank's RBC Mobex mobile payment service.
This service gives users an easy person-to-person payment method for situations when individuals may not have the cash on hand, such as reimbursing a friend for lunch, collecting for the office coffee run, paying the babysitter, or buying a garage sale item.
"We are very proud to announce that our Money Mobiliser product has been successfully implemented in Canada and is currently undergoing trial," says Eckhard Ortwein, CEO, paybox. "Enabling global financial players is a further strategic step in strengthening our position as the leader in mobile payment enterprise solutions."
End customers participating in the trial simply send a text message to RBC Mobex with the dollar amount and the recipient's cell phone number. Amounts of up to $100 per day can be sent to anyone with a mobile phone serviced by any Canadian wireless carrier, even if they do not have an RBC Mobex account. Recipients receive an instant text message on their mobile phone to let them know that money has been sent to them. They just need to register for the payment service to access their funds. The RBC Mobex account is a stored value account and enrollment is through the RBC Mobex web-site, where money can be loaded from any Canadian bank account or from a credit card.
For added security, senders receive a call on their mobile phone to verify the transaction with a PIN for amounts over $25. Participants will be able to remotely track and manage their RBC Mobex account directly from their mobile phone or through the RBC Mobex web site to check balances, view payment history, and add funds. There are no additional fees to use the service, however users are subject to any regular bank or wireless carrier charges and fees they might have in place.
The trial will run until January 2009. Further details about a wide scale consumer pilot are to be confirmed and announced at a later time.
The paybox Mobiliser deployment for Mobex has received the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) certification that is required by any company processing, storing, or transmitting payment card data.
paybox will present its paybox Mobiliser products at the GITEX in Dubai (stand H2-7) 19-23 Oct. 2008.
