Agentrics, a leading solution provider to the world's largest retailers and their trading partners, today announced the appointment of Thomas Corbett as chief executive officer. Corbett holds a PhD in supply chain management and has more than 15 years of experience in supply chain consulting in the U.S. and Latin America. Most recently Corbett served as director of mergers and acquisitions for M. Abuhab Participações (MAP), a Joinville, Brazil-based private holding company.
Under Corbett's leadership, MAP recently secured a controlling stake in Agentrics and will invest in the company's expansion into new markets and solution offerings. Corbett will be based in the company's Chicago office. Corbett will assume the role of CEO from Christopher K. Sellers, who led Agentrics since 2004 and who will continue to serve as a consultant and advisor to his successor as well as Miguel Abuhab, chairman of the Agentrics board of managers, during the transition.

Under Corbett's leadership, and with the investment from MAP, Agentrics will transition from its current role as a provider of e-sourcing, product lifecycle management (PLM) and supply chain management solutions, to offer a wider range of business and consulting services that will more effectively change and improve the way companies trade. Helping businesses improve supply chain efficiency and deliver an improved consumer experience remains the core Agentrics mission. While sourcing and trading partner collaboration will continue to play a key role in the Agentrics portfolio, the company is increasingly recognized as a leader in PLM, where it has become a leading provider of solutions to develop private label, or store brand, products.

Prior to joining MAP, Corbett was a managing partner of Goldratt Consulting, based in Sao Paulo, Brazil. While there, he led consulting engagements for businesses in the retail sector, working closely with retailers and their suppliers. Corbett also has worked with Arthur Andersen as a consultant in the national strategy group, based in Boston. He holds a PhD in supply chain management from Fundação Getulio Vargas, Sao Paulo, Brazil, with research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge. He also holds a master's degree in finance from Fundação Getulio Vargas.
Following the successful conclusion last week of AgentricsWorld 2008, the company's annual customer conference, the shareholders of Agentrics elected a new governing board of managers. As majority owner, MAP appointed two members to the board in addition to Miguel Abuhab: Yohyon van Zantwijk, chief executive officer, Vivacadena; and Jay Moskowitz, chairman and chief executive officer, eMedicalFiles. The minority shareholders are represented on the board by John Spina, vice president and treasurer, Walgreens; Alain Cappannelli, international purchasing director, Auchan International; and Tom Tsuruta, executive vice president and general manager, AEON USA; all who represent companies that were founding members of Agentrics. On September 26, the newly constituted board voted to appoint Corbett as chief executive officer with immediate effect.
