You don't have a physical community to form an attachment and become involved with, when your business is exclusively online. We are excited about finding our place in the College Park community

Yes! A new shopping destination in the College Park Shopping District, and it's completely unique. Beachcombers Bazaar opens on Edgewater Dr. in downtown College Park, in mid September followed by a Grand Opening celebration Saturday September 27. Local Orlando couple, Jody Rogers and Asad Bangash are delighted to have a physical retail store to expand their thriving online business of nearly five years.

"You don't have a physical community to form an attachment and become involved with, when your business is exclusively online. We are excited about finding our place in the College Park community," says Jody.

The Beachcombers Bazaar physical store offers an enticing array of eye-catching ethnic Bollywood style products such as handmade Indian shoes called khussa, glass (yes, really glass) bangle bracelets, bindi body stickers, and even products to make your own henna tattoos. Sound exotic? Perhaps, but everything is accessible and easy for the everyday shopper. The couple is eager to help, and will find your proper bangle size and shoe size in a quick minute.

"Being as American-Girl-Next-Door as it gets, I had to learn about ethnic items the hard way. That's why I write easy-to-understand instructions for our products, so customers can confidently wear it like a native," laughs Jody.

Expecting a dark store draped in sari fabric and scented with nag champa incense? Not at all. Beachcombers is a bright airy store, with glittering (literally, glittering) colorful product everywhere the eye can see. It is evident that Jody and Asad are proud of the store they created, and rightly so. They remodeled the entire store themselves, from the new ceiling to the hand painted henna designs discreetly decorating the walls.

"We wanted the store to look like a 3D physical version of the website," Asad explains.

The Grand Opening celebration on Saturday September 27, 2008 will have a variety of fun events including free henna tattoos, free Aura Readings, Tribal Fusion Belly Dancers from Florida Tribal Dance, and raffles. See the website, BeachcombersBazaar.com for more details.
