Industry Veteran Appointed as President of European Operations for Diamond Resorts International®
Diamond Resorts International® (DRI), a global leader in the vacation ownership industry, has appointed Martin M. Kandel ("Marty") to the position of President for European Operations, reporting to the President and Chief Operating Officer for DRI, Simon Crawford-Welch, Ph.D, RRP.
Las Vegas , NV (PRWEB) January 8, 2008 -- Diamond Resorts International® (DRI), a global leader in the vacation ownership industry, has appointed Martin M. Kandel ("Marty") to the position of President for European Operations, reporting to the President and Chief Operating Officer for DRI, Simon Crawford-Welch, Ph.D, RRP.
Prior to joining DRI, Kandel held the position of Chief Executive Officer at Accor Première Vacation Club providing the experience and leadership to build a large, profitable operation, which saw average year-on-year revenue growth in excess of 30%. At Accor, Kandel was responsible for more than 1,100 employees, 19 resort properties and 17 sales offices throughout Australia, New Zealand and Indonesia, and $100,000,000 in annual sales. Kandel also served for 11 years as CEO of Accumen Sales & Marketing Group, a Florida-based timeshare development, sales, marketing and travel company.
"Marty brings with him a wealth of experience in all areas of the timeshare business, and a particularly strong focus on sales, marketing and product and property development," says Simon Crawford-Welch. Kandel is a former Maryland Assistant Attorney General appointed to the Governor's Task Force on Timesharing and selected to author state timesharing legislation as well as policies for regulatory agencies. He remains a member in good standing (inactive) of the Maryland Bar.
