Filmmaker Traveling U.S. to Promote Movie and $10,000 Contest Auctions Ad Space

Director Gabriel Barboza will drive a Mobile Billboard Truck from screenings and events in NY to LA promoting his movie and the $10,000 contest. There are clues hidden within the movie that lead to $10,000 for the audience to find. Ad space on the truck is being auctioned off on Ebay to help finance the venture set to kick off in under four weeks.

Dallas, TX (Bluehost/PRWEB ) January 24, 2008 -- Director Gabriel Barboza will travel cross-country in a Mobile Ad Truck promoting his movie Green Eyed Monster, and the $10,000 contest embedded into the film. Dallas based production company Grey Sky Project Entertainment is sponsoring the tour which includes screenings and promotional events at theaters, universities, and smaller venues nationwide. The truck will feature scrolling ads that are being auctioned off on Ebay, as well as ads for the film. To track his progress and for auction information visit: www.greeneyedmonstermovie.com

Barboza plans on traveling for a minimum of Sixty (60) days around the country promoting the film. He will head eastward from Dallas up to New York and make his way across the country to an event in Los Angeles.

He will blog and video-log his daily progress during the tour as he builds a greater following for the $10,000 contest, officially called The Search. Contest details are available on the movie's website.

Green Eyed Monster features a highly unique aspect. The film contains a number of clues throughout it that actually lead to real treasure! Clues leading to prizes totaling more than $10,000 can be found throughout the film. "We wanted to create an exciting experience for those people who support Green Eyed Monster", Barboza explains. By engaging in the treasure hunt, people can reap great benefits from the film long after watching.

About the movie:

Green-Eyed Monster is a thriller that incorporates urban legends rooted in Hispanic Folklore and is about a group of friends who travel to an abandoned ranch in South Texas drawn by a legend of buried money.

David (Nick Barton) convinces his friends that there is money-for-the-taking buried at his uncle's Ranch and that he can lead them to it. His cousin Ashley (Estella Gomez) warns them that the place has a grim history, but the promise of riches is all too enticing. In trying to find the money, they uncover something buried within us all as one by one they mysteriously disappear.

Barboza completed his education at the University of North Texas where he studied Filmmaking. He received B.A.'s in both Radio, Television and Film and English Creative Writing in 2004. After graduation he was accepted into the Kodak Student Filmmaker Program at the Cannes Film Festival of 2004 and attended Cannes where he landed an Internship with Crystal Sky Inc. He was then invited to the American Film Market that same year to Intern with Crystal Sky again.

In 2006, he received the Best Screenplay Award at the 2006 EDOC film festival and was an official selection for the Film Club Horror Challenge in London, England in October 2006.

Toward the end of 2006, he began trying to find financing for a feature film idea he had hatched a few years earlier and was able to get Green Eyed Monster off of the ground. The film was shot on a modest budget with Barboza serving as Writer, Director, Producer, and Editor. The movie itself was written around a simple premise: If an audience is watching a movie about people digging around for money why not let them dig for their own?

Barboza is available for in studio interviews.
