OutProtect, the first company to provide end-to-end security for on-demand application data, today announced that Eric Svetcov has joined its advisory board. Svetcov is the former Information Security Director at salesforce.com (NYSE: CRM) where he led numerous information security projects including the ISO 27001 certification program. Svetcov recently joined KPMG's IT Advisory practice where he is focused on a wide range of IT advisory and security issues: from policy and procedure definition to enterprise systems security, including internal compliance, external interference, cyber crime and business continuity management. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) and several other certifications. In addition to his strong professional experience, Svetcov was a featured speaker at Computerworld's June 2008 Utility Computing Tech Briefing in New Zealand and has been a regular contributor to Technology & Learning magazine, has contributed to SC Magazine and is a past Contributing Editor and Member of the Editorial Review Board of Windows NT Systems magazine.
"OutProtect is truly a leader in its vision and understanding of how to protect on-demand application data. As more companies move mission critical functions to on-demand solutions, they realize they cannot apply traditional security measures to applications they don't own or control," said Svetcov. "I was drawn to OutProtect because they understood that a new approach was required to offer comprehensive data security for on-demand application data. The OutProtect solution addresses the unique points of vulnerability that traditional security solutions have not addressed in a corporate environment. This is essential to giving companies more comprehensive protection and allowing them to be proactive in securing on-demand data, both from insider and outsider threats. I look forward to helping OutProtect with its revolutionary approach to protecting on-demand application data."
OutProtect Security Assistant 1.0 offers a broad array of capabilities that include in-browser security such as preventing copy/paste, to application control that prevents the attachment of protected files to webmail accounts. With a web-based interface for easy setup, configuration and deployment, Security Assistant 1.0 makes managing security for on-demand applications as simple as managing the on-demand application itself.
"Eric is one of the few people to have an abundance of on-demand security experience and we're thrilled that he's joining the OutProtect advisory board," said Ted Briscoe, OutProtect's CEO. "His guidance will be of tremendous value as we continue to advance the concept of data security for on-demand applications and apply it to existing and new applications."
