Log4Net Dashboard extends the benefits of using the Log4Net logging framework. Developers and system administrators will benefit from a centralized overview of the log and the easy way to analyze and filter the log.

FaktNet (http://www.faktnet.com) has released the latest version of Log4Net Dashboard, a web application that can read log events from a variety of targets, including Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle SQL Server, XML Files and Windows Event Log.

Log4Net is widely used as a logging framework, ported from Log4J and rewritten by the Apache organization. Log4Net is today one of the top open source choices in the Microsoft .NET community.

The Log4Net Dashboard has a pivot table which instantly gives the user an overview of the logging situation. The initial layout of the summary table can be customized through configuration, and in runtime through filtering. From the summary table the user can drill down to inspect the log events.

Highlights in version 2.4:

New "Logger Summary" page shows log entries categorized by logger and log level.

New filter columns Date, Time and ID making it easier to focus the Dashboard on the area of the log that you are investigating.

A new OracleProvider to read log entries logged through the AdoNetAppender to an Oracle database.

The SqlServer provider has been extended with the possibility to customize the name of the standard columns (id, data, logger, level etc). This functionality is also implemented in the new Oracle provider.

Several improvements in the TextFileProvider, the provider is more robust to changes to a folder containing log files, especially when adding and removing files from the folder and if parts of log files is deleted.

Log4Net dashboard is free to use for developers on a single machine. A production license cost from $45.
