You have a right to protect yourself
Colfax, WA (PRWEB) October 1, 2008
Like many parents, former nurse, Cyndi Curtis, wants to make sure that all children are safe from dangers. Whether there are stalkers or pool safety, dangers can come in several different forms. With that in mind, Curtis wanted to make sure that families and individuals have access to tools to keep them safe.
"You have a right to protect yourself," said Curtis. "I feel that I'm adamant for the safety of people, particularly children."
With an altruistic desire to keep people secure, Curtis launched http://www.BasicSafetyProducts.com in February 2008.
Through her site, Curtis has made a variety of items such as tasers, animal repellent, hidden cameras and child safety products (pool alarms, child guards, etc.) available at affordable prices. In addition to carrying these products, Basic Safety Products also has information regarding the safety and legality on the website.
The information on the site scratches the surface, however, as Curtis has also developed a blog, http://www.ProtectYourFamilyBlogg.com. "I have five children and four grandchildren, so I'll be talking about child safety. One in every five women at Washington State University will be sexually assaulted, so it will be a forum where I can help educate people about safety" said Curtis of the blog. "I'll also talk about home protection, home alarms and safety devices."
The safety device products, which Curtis carries, are also going through an expansion of their own: "There is a new line of camouflaged stun guns. There are new makes and models and upgrades in pepper sprays. When there's something new, I'll update my website."
Ever the parental figure, Cyndi Curtis has used her intuition to build a great resource for people to find items that will help keep them and their families safe. Curtis encourages people to be able to talk to their children and impart with them bits of wisdom that they will carry with them.
"I raised my kids to err on the side of caution," said Curtis. "I can't imagine the pain of parents who have gone through tragedy. Now that my children are grown, I'm on a mission to educate. After all, knowledge is everything."
