Prestigious awards are given annually by ITFlorida to spotlight information technology industry advances. Fort Lauderdale, Florida BlackBox GPS provider of GPS Asset Monitoring and Locating solutions, has been selected as a finalist for the 2008 ITFlorida Small Business of the Year Award.

BlackBox GPS has been selected as a finalist for the annual 2008 ITFlorida awards for Small Business of the Year. This prestigious award is intended to showcase and spotlight industry achievements within the information technology industry of the state of Florida. The awards span across 17 categories and are narrowed down to 4 finalists for the awards Gala.

The winners will be announced at the Awards Gala on October 6, 2008 at Disney. Keynote speakers of the awards Gala are to include U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson; Florida Senate President-Designate Jeff Atwater; State CIO David Taylor; Sen. Jeremy Ring; Dr. Dale Brill, director of Gov. Charlie Crist's office of economic development; and Terry Tamminen, former Secretary of the California EPA. Other Category Finalists include Cirtix, South Florida Technology Alliance, Honeywell, and Florida Atlantic University.

ITFlorida is a public private partnership organized to assist the state of Florida's Congressional Delegation, the Governor, the Legislature and other public policy and economic development organizations. The ITFlorida board is comprised of elected and appointed Government officials and is supplemented with leadership from CEO-level officials at both small business levels and major corporations. The focuses of ITFlorida include education, information, advocacy, conferences, programs, and promotion of regional initiatives.
