Until now, Red Karaoke focused mainly on online singing and sharing, registering and hosting user song recordings, both in audio and video, in real time via a webcam and microphone. Users got to know each other through their profiles, "Fan and Favourites" lists, by private messaging as well as by suggesting new karaoke tunes and content on the forum.

According to Díez Ferreira, "over the the last few months we have been asking our users how they would like Red Karaoke to be. The new design is the response to our commitment to mantaining an open dialogue with our community of users. Consequently, as of today, the 215,000 members registered on Red Karaoke will be able to upload their own videos, recorded and edited offline, including performances, concerts, parties and even videoclips, as well as continuing to register online recordings, like they have been doing up until now. In the same way, they will now have the opportunity of creating their own blogs linked to their user profiles, completely free of charge."

Also, thanks to its "plug & sing" technology, users only have to plug a microphone into their PCs to start their audio or video recording, and are able to choose from a large catalogue of more than 17,500 free karaoke songs by all types of artists.
