Existing Archadeck and OLP franchises will continue under current franchise agreements, served by the same corporate franchise support staffs
Richmond, VA (PRWEB) October 1, 2008
Two of the nation's largest outdoor living companies - Archadeck and Outdoor Lighting Perspectives (OLP) - have joined forces, creating a new company that will pursue global expansion in the outdoor products and services category through multiple independent franchise brands.
The new company - Outdoor Living Brands - will be headquartered in Richmond, Va., the current home of Archadeck. It will support more than 150 existing Archadeck and OLP franchise locations worldwide while spearheading a growth strategy that will include growing its brands and adding new franchise opportunities in the branded outdoor living products and services industry.
"This transaction creates a much larger organization with the financial resources and expanded expertise needed to strengthen support for existing Archadeck and OLP franchise owners," said Chris Grandpre, president and CEO of Archadeck and of the newly formed Outdoor Living Brands, which serves as the new parent company for both Archadeck and OLP.
"At the same time, our new company provides a strong foundation to pursue the introduction of additional branded, franchise offerings in the outdoor living category," he continued. "Our vision is that Outdoor Living Brands will become the preeminent leader in branded offerings for the outdoors all through a top-notch franchise company."
Franchise owners of Archadeck, the largest designer-builder of decks, porches and other outdoor living spaces, and OLP, the leader in residential outdoor lighting systems, will continue to operate under their existing brand names, with Outdoor Living Brands serving as the umbrella corporate brand, according to Scott Zide, vice president with OLP and chief operating officer of the newly formed company.
"Existing Archadeck and OLP franchises will continue under current franchise agreements, served by the same corporate franchise support staffs," Zide said. "While the operation of the franchises will not change, the combination of our companies will allow us to develop significant new opportunities for our existing owners in national advertising, promotions, cross selling, trade alliances and national accounts. These two industry leading companies share similar client bases, and we believe there are many ways in which we can help to generate business for our respective franchisees."
According to the owners of privately held Archadeck and OLP, the initial focus of the new organization will be to assure a smooth transition for existing franchise owners. OLP, which has 11 employees at its Charlotte, N.C. headquarters, will consolidate operations in Archadeck's Richmond location.
"Our first priority is to assure Archadeck and OLP franchise owners that this will be a seamless transition for them and that the new company won't skip a beat," said Tom Fenig, president and founder of OLP. "Archadeck and OLP coming together is good news for all of our existing owners in terms of the enhanced support that the combined organization can provide."
Products and services for outdoor living have grown rapidly during recent years, with homeowners investing substantially in outdoor living spaces that are as stylish, comfortable and well appointed as interior spaces.
"Outdoor Living Brands will be well positioned to take advantage of the incredible popularity of entertaining, living and relaxing outdoors," Grandpre said. "A missing element has been a company that can provide consumers with easier access to the growing array of branded products and services that enhance the enjoyment and lifestyle of living outdoors. Our new organization will work hard to meet this need."
Grandpre noted that Archadeck and OLP's resources and strengths are highly complementary.
"Archadeck and OLP are both leaders in their respective categories," Grandpre said. "Both companies have long track records of providing quality products and services to their clients, while extending exemplary support services to their respective franchise owners. This combination will empower our respective organizations to leverage each other's strengths and best practices for the benefit of our franchisees and the homeowners they serve."
