Barcoding Inc. recognized as one of the fastest growing technology firms in Maryland/Virginia Region

Barcoding Inc., a leader in automated data capture (ADC) solutions, has been named to Deloitte's prestigious Technology Fast 50 Program, a ranking of the 50 fastest growing technology firms in the Maryland and Virginia region by Deloitte & Touche USA LLP, one of the nation's leading professional services organizations. Rankings for the Technology Fast 50 program are based on the percentage revenue growth over five years from 2003-2007.

"Deloitte's MD and VA Technology Fast 50 companies have shown the strength, vision and tenacity to succeed in today's very competitive technology environment," said Gary Tabach, Greater Washington Office Regional Managing Partner, Deloitte & Touche, LLP. "We applaud the successes of Barcoding, Inc. and acknowledge it as one of the very few to accomplish such a fast growth rate over the past five years."

Barcoding Inc. CEO Jay Steinmetz credits the company's success to the hard work and dedication of the Barcoding staff. "In the technology field, innovation and 'what's next' thinking will always be the primary driver of our business. But we could not have achieved the customer growth, retention and success we have achieved year after year without the commitment of our employees, who bring a 'nothing's impossible' attitude to their jobs and the needs of our customers. The Deloitte Fast 50 is a great honor, and it validates the standard of excellence our employees demonstrate every day."

To qualify for the Technology Fast 50, companies must have had operating revenues of at least $50,000 in 2003 and $5,000,000 in 2007, be headquartered in the Maryland/Virginia region and be a company that owns proprietary technology or proprietary intellectual property that contributes to a significant portion of the company's operating revenues; or devotes a significant proportion of revenues to the research and development of technology. Using other companies' technology or intellectual property in a unique way does not qualify.

Companies from the nine regional Technology Fast 50 programs in the United States and Canada are automatically entered in Deloitte's Technology Fast 500 program, which ranks North America's top 500 fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications and life sciences companies.
