I want to show people that there is great jewelry that doesn't look cheap and trashy. We have high quality products. Eventually, I would like to make this a family business, rather than my business.

For a long time, Glenda Alderson wanted to start her own business and throughout the course of 10 months managed to walk over the steep hill of being a go-getter with a simple encouraging statement from her husband, Chris. "My husband told me, 'You can do this," began Alderson. "He has a good business mind and he is the best support system. And I did it and that's how we got our start."
Alderson's http://www.JewelryBoxJewellery.com launched in the summer of 2008 and has a wide variety of jewelry at a variety of prices. "Jewelry is something that I've always admired from a distance and I love it," she said.
The love that Alderson has is visible all over the site and though it's only a few months old, she's already expanding her line: "I want to get some watches on the site. I also want to carry some children's jewelry - nothing that you can find at a dollar store, but a quality little treasure. Something they can save for their children.
"I found some native jewelry from New Zealand and they're made of wood, bone and jade. They're very lovely," Alderson continued.
Another new expansion of JewelryBoxJewellery.com is the websites new companion blog, http://www.JewelryJewelleryBox.com. "I want to share the information that I've come to understand about the jewelry industry and how it works," Alderson explained. "I'll discus terms used by jewelers, the different namesakes of jewelry. I want to give ideas to inform the general public of the items they're purchasing. I want to help them get a better understanding of what they're buying. I want to make it fun."
In addition to being fun, JeweleryBoxJewellery.com is also contributing to great causes. The website is currently featuring two items that are going towards breast cancer research. "Ten percent of the sale of these items will go to the Breast Cancer Foundation. Everyone has something that touches their heart," said Alderson.
In the end, Glenda Alderson is starting something that she can share with everyone - not just jewelry enthusiasts, but family as well. "I want to show people that there is great jewelry that doesn't look cheap and trashy. We have high quality products. Eventually, I would like to make this a family business, rather than my business."
