State Rep. Michael Scionti Joins the Fight at Swope, Rodante P.A.

State Representative, United States army veteran, and former criminal prosecutor joins law firm representing catastrophically injured individuals and victims of the insurance industry

Tampa, Fla. (Lexis Nexis/PRWEB ) October 2, 2008 -- Florida State Representative Michael Scionti (D-District 58) has joined the highly regarded law firm of Swope, Rodante P.A., located in the Historic Florida Brewing Company Building in Ybor City.

A native of Tampa, Rep. Scionti spent most of his professional career as a criminal prosecutor for the State of Florida, serving as an Assistant Attorney General, Assistant State Attorney, and Assistant Statewide Prosecutor. As a staunch advocate for victims, Rep. Scionti earned a reputation for excellence in criminal courtrooms across Florida, prosecuting white collar corruption, organized crime, and other felony offenses.

In 2000, Rep. Scionti was commissioned as an officer in the United States Army Reserve and graduated from both the Army's military justice and military intelligence academies. As an Army Judge Advocate and Intelligence Officer, he served two combat tours of duty in Afghanistan and Iraq, and returned home a decorated war veteran earning the Bronze Star Medal for his leadership during ground combat operations.

Rep. Scionti was elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2006 and re-elected to his second term in 2008.

"We have found in Michael a fellow warrior for the rights of the injured," said Dale Swope. "With his unyielding passion for truth and justice, and steadfast commitment to clients who have suffered greatly as a result of the negligent acts and bad faith dealings of others, Angela Rodante and I are proud to welcome Michael as the newest member of the Swope, Rodante family."

According to Swope, who celebrates 30 years as an attorney this November, his firm focuses exclusively on representing those who have been injured due to the faults of others or let down by an insurance company. Just as he focuses on the rights of the little guy in the courtroom, Swope says he never intended to have a large firm. However, he is excited about the addition of Rep. Scionti. He says, "In this decision, it is our clients that win."
