Chicago Job Alternative Seminar Presents Options for Changing Careers

The Chicago Job Alternative Seminar will present several career change options for professionals who wish to be self employed or start a business.

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) October 3, 2008 -- Bruce Wood Seminars will launch The Chicago Job Alternative Seminar at the posh Belden-Stratford Hotel in Lincoln Park West on October 7, 14 and 21, 2008. The Chicago Job Alternative Seminar will present several career change options for professionals who wish to be self employed or start a business. The seminar is free, and seating is limited. Pre-registration is required online at http://www.ChicagoJobAlternative.com

The Chicago Job Alternative Seminar is designed to provide comparative benefits of several types of new businesses and self employment choices. It is a primer on business terms, strategies, startup costs and budgets involved in franchising, network marketing, internet business, opening a store, working from home and gaining skills for a new professional career.

The seventy-five minute seminar was created in response to the current economic slowdown and events which have changed the job environment for professionals in the real estate, financial, mortgage and insurance fields. Specific information about the economic viability of starting a new venture is presented, along with an overview of how to be positioned to benefit from global economic trends.

Seminar participants will gain insight about which new career alternative may be appropriate for them, based on their current financial position and their expectations for the future.
Bruce Wood, creator of the Job Alternative Seminar, brings a multitude of entrepreneurial experiences to his insightful presentations. Over the past twenty-five years, he has owned businesses as diverse as art and music publishing, real estate renovation, infomercial marketing and photo services for advertising agencies. For seventeen years he operated a chain of retail furniture boutiques in Chicago and Michigan.
Bruce Wood was also a member of the Mid America Commodity Exchange, a registered Commodity Trading Advisor, Futures Floor Broker and Realtor.
However, Bruce Wood's formal education was not in business. He has a Master of Fine Arts Degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He has written and directed a feature-length motion picture, The Door, and his paintings are sold internationally.

After graduation, he quickly found that to make a living he needed to be resourceful. "All that education, and no marketable skills!" he says, reflecting on his decision to enter the business world. "I started so many businesses, and learned from my failures and successes. Now I want to help guide new entrepreneurs through the process of starting out on their own."
