Renowned Sports Muralist Signs On As Official Artist

THE PERFECT GAME starring Clifton Collins Jr. (TRAFFIC, CAPOTE), Cheech Marin (ONCE UPON A TIME IN MEXICO), Patty Manterola, Emilie De Ravin (LOST, THE HILLS HAVE EYES), Bruce McGill (COLLATERAL, THE INSIDER) and Academy Award® winner Louis Gossett Jr. (CLUB SODA, AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN), tells the story of the 1957 Little League World Series which was won by a rag tag team from Monterrey, Mexico, the first time a team from outside the United States won the World Series. The movie will receive theatrical distribution from Lionsgate in the coming months.

Sullivan was on set throughout the production, capturing key moments and the spirit and essence of the inspirational story. Based on his time on set, Sullivan will create licensed artwork of scenes from the movie to be sold online to coincide with the film's wide release. In addition, he has created a series of original and limited edition pieces also based on the movie, signed by the actors, which will be sold for auction at premieres around the country. Proceeds raised will be donated to various charities.

"Sports art, much like sports itself, is about imagination and achievement. What the kids who are the centerpiece of THE PERFECT GAME were able to imagine and achieve is one of the great feats in amateur sports history," said Sullivan. Mike Sullivan (mikesullivanart.com) gained national attention for his mural paying tribute to the late Arizona State football star and Army hero Pat Tillman, which Sullivan installed inside ASU's Sun Devil Stadium. Sullivan captured headlines again earlier this spring as he installed his latest mural, "Tradition," honoring the history of the USC football program, inside the legendary Los Angeles Coliseum.

Sullivan is the official artist of Fox Sports Net's BEST DAMN SPORTS SHOW PERIOD, where his paintings of Chicago Bears RB Walter Payton and NBA Hall of Famer Julius "Dr. J" Erving are featured prominently on set. His original works have been displayed on numerous other shows including ESPN's COLLEGE GAMEDAY and ABC's SPORTSZONE. Sullivan was also selected to design the covers for the last two Arena Football League Championship programs.

Active in charities, his artwork has also raised money for such foundations as including The Magic Johnson Foundation, The Pat Tillman Foundation, Miller Children's Hospital, Orangewood Pals and Notre Dame head coach Charlie Weis's Hannah and Friends foundation.

THE PERFECT GAME was directed by William Dear (HARRY AND THE HENDERSONS, WILD AMERICA) who enjoyed success with his baseball features ANGELS IN THE OUTFIELD and THE SANDLOT 3. Screenplay is written by W. William Winokur, who is also the author of the upcoming book release, The Perfect Game. Award winning composer Bill Conti created the score for the movie.
