DNL eBooks Releases Publisher Managed Back Office Solution with 'Real Time' ebook Sales Reports

DNAML Pty Ltd announces the release of DeskTop Author Version 6, allowing publishers and conversion houses to view eBook sales in real time.

Sydney, Australia (PRWEB) October 3, 2008 -- DNL eBooks, a DNAML product division, today announced the release of DeskTop Author Version 6. DeskTop Author software allows publishers and outsourced production companies to produce eBooks in the popular DNL format.

DeskTop Author Version 6 release main feature is the ability for Publishers and resellers, affiliates and distributors to view sales of eBooks in real time through the DNL DRM back office system. Publishers can now change the price of the eBook in real time. Publishers can sell their eBooks in multiple currencies, all through the Try Before You Buy DNL eBook sales model. A technology model which allows for sales of eBooks to occur directly from within the eBook.

"Real time reporting of sales is not common in the publishing industry, publishers don't see sales data for between one and six months. However with eBooks being an electronic medium there should be no acceptable reason why sales are not reported in real time," said Adam Schmidt, CEO of DNAML.

The need for cumbersome and high maintenance shopping carts is over. DNL eBook's ability to take payment from within the eBook enables publishers to simply post the eBook to any web site in order to begin selling eBooks. This obviously opens up tremendous previously unavailable distribution opportunities to publishers.

"Any web site can now be a shop front. Publishers can now empower authors to sell eBooks from their own web sites without the normally significant associated set up and maintenance costs being incurred. Sales are tracked in real time, publishers can offer the author commissions and all parties to the transaction witness the sales in real time," said Schmidt.

DeskTop Author Version 6 includes an auto import ePub function, allowing for speedy and cost effective production of DNL eBooks. ePub import function was first released in February 2008, but has only been available to a select few outsourcing centers who participated in the BETA program.

DeskTop Author is available from http://www.desktopauthor.com for a cost of only $79. Publishers can also seek production services from a selection of eBook conversion houses, specializing in DNL eBook conversion.
