Volunteer Travel - Be Part of It.

Meaningful travel company i-to-i has launched 'Be Part of It', a national campaign to help the company achieve its goal of 400 years of combined volunteer service by the end of 2008.

Last year, i-to-i assisted over 5,000 travellers take part in volunteering projects around the globe, contributing over 357 years of volunteer service through the company. This year the aim is to reach 400 years by 31st December 2008.

i-to-i offers travellers a totally unique travel experience in a safe, supported and sustainable manner. Volunteers work side-by-side with local people, stay in locally owned accommodation and become members of the community, taking part on projects that can be from one to 24 weeks long. i-to-i offer hundreds of partner projects around the world ranging from building homes for underprivileged children in Vietnam, teaching English in Nepal, community work in Bangalore or even surfing and saving turtles in Costa Rica.

What can be achieved in 400 years of volunteering?

  • Over 5,500 children are cared for on community projects around the world
  • A minimum of 13,000 children and adults are taught English in schools and community centres
  • Hundreds of animals protected including turtles, pandas, elephants, monkeys and more
  • At least 80 homes and structures are built for families and communities in need
  • More than 8,000 trees planted, enough to offset the CO2 emissions of over 2,000 cars

How will you contribute?

Support Disadvantaged Children in Mombasa, Kenya
Put a smile on the faces of children who have been abandoned, orphaned or live their young lives in poverty while experiencing Kenya's beautiful coastal city. As a volunteer, you will provide general care and assistance in looking after the children. This will involve playing games, teaching English & basic life skills.

Prices: Projects are from one to 12 weeks long and cost £520.00 for one week and £125.00 for every week thereafter. Price includes shared dormitory room accommodation, breakfast and dinner, airport pickup and in-country orientation, online TEFL course, pre-departure helpdesk, local in-country team and 24hr emergency support.

Lion conservation in South Africa
A unique opportunity to help out at one of South Africa's premier conservation projects. You'll help care for lions, cheetahs and leopards as well as feeding the parks most precious inhabitants… young lion cubs.

Prices: £1095.00 for two weeks. Price includes shared luxury tents at project and shared hostel, airport pickup and in-country orientation, pre-departure helpdesk, local in-country team and 24hr emergency support.

Build Homes for Underprivileged Families in Costa Rica
Experience life in rural Costa Rica and work alongside locals on a housing project designed to improve the living conditions of the local community. Volunteers will assist the local community with all aspects of building and renovating homes.

Prices: Projects are from one to 12 weeks long and cost £545.00 for one week and £125.00 for every week thereafter. Price includes shared room in homestay, all meals, airport pickup and in-country orientation, pre-departure helpdesk, local in-country team and 24hr emergency support.

Help Teach and Care for young Children in Tanzania
Variety is the spice of life when you join this community project. Based in the town of Moshi you can test your skills as an English teacher, counsellor and sports coach!

Prices: Projects are from one to 12 weeks long and cost £695.00 for one week and £125.00 for every week thereafter. Price includes shared dormitory room accommodation, breakfast and dinner, airport pickup and in-country orientation, online TEFL course, pre-departure helpdesk, local in-country team and 24hr emergency support.

Sea Turtle Conservation in Costa Rica
Working on either the Caribbean or Pacific coasts you can help protect one of nature's most fascinating creatures whilst living the 'beach' lifestyle. You will receive specific training which will enable you to help with research and data collection. This is a great opportunity to help safeguard the existence of these fascinating animals, whilst spending lots of time on the sun-kissed beaches of Costa Rica's pristine coastline.

Prices: Projects are from one to 12 weeks long and cost £495.00 for one week and £150.00 for every week thereafter. Price includes shared basic hut, tent, dormitory or homestay, all meals, airport pickup and in-country orientation, pre-departure helpdesk, local in-country team and 24hr emergency support.
