Pearl River, NY (PRWEB) October 6, 2008
Palisades Federal Credit Union announced a $1,597 donation to the United Way of Rockland County, a non-profit organization committed to raising resources for Rockland County families and agencies in need.
The current downturn in the economy has caused both public and private institutions to cut back on charitable giving this year. Unfortunately, this decline in funding coincides with an increase in hardship as many local families' struggle to meet even their most basic needs. "This climate is very challenging for non-profit agencies as a number of companies have either closed, moved out of the County or are experiencing cutbacks and lay-offs" explained Mimi Vilord, President and CEO of the United Way of Rockland County "The United Way is very appreciative of the generosity of Palisades Federal Credit Union."
"Palisades Federal Credit Union is committed to helping ensure the vitality of our county" said Mark Welshoff, President and CEO of Palisades Federal Credit Union "during times of financial strain it is important that local businesses and organizations help out even more."
Palisades Federal Credit Union has a strong commitment of making significant civic and financial contributions to support and strengthen the County. Giving back locally has always been a company priority and that tradition of community support continues today.
