Attributes Growth to New Products, Strategic Partnerships and New Leadership

TerraGo® Technologies, a provider of software solutions that extend the access and application of geospatial data to professional consumers, today announced that Q3 08 sales were up 93% over last quarter and customer count has now grown to more than 700 organizations worldwide. TerraGo attributes its success to solid execution on three strategic initiatives: new products, new partners and new executive leadership.

In addition, we built out our executive management team with some of the industry's most experienced talent in sales and marketing, which will enable us to reach a broader market in a disciplined and efficient manner."

Notable Q3 developments include:

  • Product Delivery. Significant feature enhancements were delivered in the company's flagship product suite, Map2PDF, this quarter. Most notably, Map2PDF for ArcGIS version 4.0 now enables ESRI ArcGIS users to create optimized GeoPDF® files from GIS maps and images, capture knowledge from the field on the GeoPDF and send it in electronic format to peers or to the GIS department, also known as roundtripping. Customers of TerraGo's Map2PDF Professional for Acrobat solution received an upgrade that allows them to merge maps and images from virtually any data source or create custom maps on the fly. Other Map2PDF solutions, including Raster, GeoMedia Standard, IMAGINE, and SOCET GXP, also received enhancements. GeoMedia Standard In addition, TerraGo announced that it has shared its GeoPDF specifications with the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), a global organization dedicated to enabling standards for the geospatial community.
  • Partner Ecosystem Development. In Q3, new relationships were established between TerraGo and key players in the geospatial industry, including Adobe, ERDAS and BAE Systems. TerraGo is one of a select group of Adobe Gold Level partners worldwide and a certified reseller of Adobe LiveCycle™. This strategic relationship not only ensures close collaboration on product development initiatives, but also enables TerraGo to offer an enterprise-wide solution for accessing and managing geospatial information in the PDF format. Renewed emphasis on long-term partners Intergraph and Autodesk with new product integration capabilities further fueled the company's growth.
  • Management team build-out. With the recent addition of Richard McKay, vice president of sales, and Chris Watson, vice president of marketing, an experienced, diverse management team is now at the helm, executing strategic initiatives that will enable the company to further capitalize on the growing market opportunity.

Leading TerraGo's sales initiatives is Richard McKay, who brings 35 years of global sales, marketing, channel management and customer care experience in the geographic information systems market to the team. Beginning his career as a certified photogrammetrist, McKay has served in various leadership roles, with an emphasis over the past 20 years on global sales at companies including Leica Geosystems GIS & Mapping (now known as ERDAS), Trimble, and Carl Zeiss.

Chris Watson brings nearly 20 years of strategic marketing experience to TerraGo. Watson's expertise is in leading high-growth companies in emerging markets with an emphasis on branding, product positioning/packaging, market segmentation and strategic alliances. Watson has served various marketing leadership roles at companies including S1 Corporation, Intergraph Corporation and Ketchum.
