Latest TeeBeeDee Poll reveals that a growing number of people over 40 believe that Online Dating sites are the best way to meet

TeeBeeDee offers Boomers a hybrid between a friend's dinner party and an online dating site. It's a safe and welcoming place for talking, sharing, and socializing. Then they can move on to meeting or dating when they're ready.

TeeBeeDee (http://www.tbd.com), a social network for adults 40+ who believe life is still to be determined, offers the results of the latest TeeBeeDee Weekly Boomer Poll. TeeBeeDee members were asked to respond to a poll about the best way for people over 40 to meet. A "Friend's Dinner Party" was the number one response, but about one-third of respondents indicated that online dating sites are the best way for the over 40 crowd to meet.

In the latest TeeBeeDee Boomer Poll, members were asked: What's the best way to meet people when you're over 40? Hundreds of members responded with the following results:

  •     32 % Friends' dinner parties
  •     30 % Online Dating Sites
  •     30 % Networking events
  •     9 % happy hour

This is consistent with recent findings, such as NPD Group's "Entertainment Trends in America" study, which polled 11,600 consumers online and found that over 41% of Boomers have visited social networks. Boomers are typically described as adults between 44 and 64 years old. Boomers represent over 77 million people in the U.S. and are one of the fastest growing segments online.

But Boomers tend to be a bit more cautious about meeting random people online, and are gravitating toward niche sites to connect with people who are the same age and have shared interests, such as golf, politics, sports, or writing. "Boomers embrace online dating, but often gravitate towards specialized sites such as TeeBeeDee because they can get started in a friendly group environment," says Robin Wolaner, TeeBeeDee CEO. "TeeBeeDee offers Boomers a hybrid between a friend's dinner party and an online dating site. It's a safe and welcoming place for talking, sharing, and socializing. Then they can move on to meeting or dating when they're ready."
