Beaumont, Texas (Vocus/PRWEB ) October 4, 2008 -- The staff at 1st American Reserve weathered a huge storm as hurricane Ike slammed into the Texas coastline September 12, 2008 leaving more than 3 million Southeast Texans without power. The company was prepared for the worst. Robert Patton, the company manager, implemented their Emergency Preparedness Plan before the storm hit. The program, which included significant training and well-defined procedures, enabled 1st American Reserve to successfully protect all computers and documents, maintain customer support services throughout the loss of power, allowed them to resume client contact Thursday, September 17, 2008 by establishing an alternative work site. 1st American, Reserve resumed full operations Thursday, September 18, 2008 once electrical power and other services were restored to the area.

1st American Reserve sustained no significant damage during Hurricane Ike. Their entire staff came through the storm uninjured and most have returned to Beaumont, Texas and resumed work. A modest water intrusion was identified and cleaned up shortly after the storm. A few of 1st American Reserve’s staff located outside of Beaumont, when they evacuated were unable to return to work until services were restored to their homes. Although conditions in Beaumont are slowly improving, there are still people without power, food or gas availability.

The company was also active in numerous community programs helping others who were not as fortunate. They provided aid to a Bridge City, Texas family, made homeless from the hurricane by supplying clothing and household items. For a previous resident of devastated Crystal Beach, 1st American Reserve provided necessary supplies and means to get them through this trying time.

Robert Patton, the company’s manager was active with the first responders in Rusk, Texas. He teamed up with Rusk Fire & Rescue Team to help clear roads of fallen trees in the Rusk, Texas area. In Sabine Pass, Texas, members of 1st American Reserve along with the company manager volunteered in remediation of mud and debris from a house flooded by the storm surge.
